At Belue Farms Natural Market, we strive to consistently provide the freshest, most perfect produce available—not just in our region, but throughout South Carolina. However, you may notice that sometimes a peach will have a split seed causing the pit to break and cling to the fruit, even in freestone varieties. This results from spring cold snaps that can alter the integrity of a pit and allow water to enter the fruit.
While we take great care to cull these peaches from our stock, occasionally we miss one or two, particularly those that do not show evidence of a split. Fortunately, this condition will not affect the nutritional value or flavor of a peach, so it remains sweet and delicious. Simply cut away the affected area, and enjoy the rest of your bounty!
Thank you from all of us at Belue Farms and Belue Farms Natural Market.
