Perk Up your Protein Shake

Protein powders offer an easy, nutritious meal or snack and come in several flavors. But by adding a few simple ingredients, you can create a custom gourmet treat. For example, once you’ve added milk, water or dairy alternative to the powder, you can fold in ingredients such as fresh fruit, cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla, nut butter, yogurt, seeds, coffee—the possibilities are endless! Toss in a handful of extra greens and flax seeds for even more nutrients. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

MOCHA SHAKE:Blend in 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 tbsp. cocoa powder, and a shot of espresso or coffee.
TROPICAL BREEZE:Add ½ a banana, ¼ cup diced pineapple, half a mango and a dash of lime juice.
NUT BUTTER BLAST:Mix in 2 tbsp cocoa, 2 tbsp. nut butter, and a pinch of cinnamon.
FRESH & FRUITY:Add 1 cup sliced peaches or strawberries, a tsp. of lemon zest and a tsp. vanilla.
KEY LIME PIE:Mix in coconut milk, 1 tsp. lime zest, 2 tsp. lime juice, and a ¼ cup vanilla yogurt.
